Mornings with kiddos can be rough am I right? When Margsy was a tiny baby I hadn’t realized how important it was for my own sanity to wake up before her and start my daily routine by making the time to just focus my own energy and be alone with my thoughts even if it was for a few short minutes. For nearly a year, I’d wake up with Margs and frantically try to entertain her, wake up from my own grogginess and get myself and her ready for the day. I bet you’re not surprised to know that I often found myself overwhelmed, frantic and exhausted because I really wasn’t focusing on incorporating any “me” time into my morning routine.
A couple of months back, I wrote an entire post about the value and importance of having a solid morning routine. If you’re interested in having a read that post can be found right here —> Starting the day on the right foot: the importance of a solid morning routine. To recap quickly, I explained that I established a predictable period of time to be alone in the morning so that I could meditate, set goals and attend to my own very basic needs which included things like morning coffee and a shower (super basic but so hard to fit in with a young child am I right?).
One of my favorite parts of my routine is writing down small achievable daily goals. My goals are sometimes focused on our home life and include things like catching up on laundry and cleaning the bathrooms while other days they include professional development things like blog development and research. Other times, my goals are focused on simply living in the moment and enjoying my home and family because as an anxiety sufferer it sometimes becomes difficult to slow down my thought process and take things as they come. So, when Kathy from The Cherished Life reached out to join her Inspired Year Blog Tour I jumped on the opportunity.
Inspired Year Planner
Over the summer, Kathy kindly sent me a free Inspired Year Planner to use and play around with in anticipation of the launch of the blog tour this fall and the awesome giveaway found at the bottom of this post.
Receiving the planner coincided with taking a small break from the interwebz which gave me a ton more time in the early mornings to meditate and really focus my energy positively each day. This planner was an incredible tool in helping me make the most of my summer days and provided the inspiration to continue setting and crushing my daily, weekly and monthly goals.
Not only is the Inspired Year Planner absolutely stunning (which makes using it super fun am I right?) but it’s divided in such a way that you can set small and large goals with a special focus on work life balance. Isn’t that awesome?
Kathy, the creator and genius behind the Inspired Year Planner has a goal that I’m sure resonates with just about every person out there I’m sure —>“creating lives full of happiness, purpose and bringing about a healthy [life] balance”.
Balance is so so hard right? This planner helps you really refocus your energy and set goals that lead to a healthier balance in your life whether your a stay at home parent, working parent or a busy professional.
