6 Cheap At Home Spa Hacks You Gotta Try
#1 Steam Your Face
Steaming is one of my absolute favorite cheap at home spa hacks.
I find this home budget friendly beauty care hack a great way to relax after a stressful day behind the wheel taking my kiddo to school, running errands and taking part in various activities.
It’s also a go-to when I’m starting to feel a bit under the weather or overly tired. If you want to take a few minutes to relax and regroup while also giving your skin a moisture boost, do a steam!
It’s easy, costs virtually no money and makes your skin feel great!
All you need is a large pan or bowl, some hot water, a towel, and any essential oils that you’d like to add.
Simply fill the bowl with hot water, add the oils, and next drape the towel over your head to capture the steam.
Breathe deeply and close your eyes, and just relax!
Some days I find myself refilling the bowl again and again. This mini-relaxation break can help you feel restored and your skin will be hydrated too!
#2 Sugar Scrub
DIY homemade sugar scrubs are a great way to keep skin bright and healthy without any irritation or harsh ingredients.
This is an example of one of those cheap at home spa hacks that is crazy easy to put together because you’ve got most of the ingredients laying around! They’re the ultimate budget friendly beauty care hack!
Simply combine a tablespoon of sugar, some honey, and the essential oil of your choice into a small bowl and combine well.
After a few minutes in the shower after your pores have had a chance to open up, scrub the skin vigorously with your sugar scrub, but not too hard. Feel the stress of the day go down the drain, and enjoy your smooth and supple skin.
#3 Coconut Oil Hair Mask
Hair treatments at the salon can be ridiculously expensive am I right?
This budget friendly hair hack is another of my favorite cheap at home spa hacks because it can help get your locks as shiny as Kate Middleton’s but without the hefty price tag!
Depending on the length and thickness of your hair, take a tablespoon or two of coconut oil and apply from roots to end.
Massage into the hair and scalp and then it is time to relax! Grab a magazine or put your feet up and watch one of your favorite Netflix shows.
Even if you don’t have more than a minute or two to sit and relax, the coconut oil will work its magic as you pick up yet another Lego that has somehow found its way to the middle of the family room.
After 15 to 20 minutes wash your hair and let air dry. I love doing this treatment in the evening and find it quite relaxing!
#4 Saffron Oil Over Night Hand and Foot Moisture Boost
Dry hands and feet are a result of a busy and hectic life that we really can’t avoid!
Taking the time to go to the nail salon for a paraffin wax treatment is one solution, but who has the time and the money?
This is one of those cheap at home spa hacks that may not be glamorous but is very effective!
After soaking your hands or feet in some warm water for 10-15 minutes; simply take some saffron oil and very generously apply to the hands and feet, paying special attention to the heels.
Next, put on some mittens and thick socks. Very glamorous, right?
I leave the oil on overnight and love the way the way my hands and feet feel in the morning! This is one of those cheap at home spa hacks that is a must try for anyone dealing with extremely dry skin.
#5 Dermal Sheet Masks
Whenever I’m ordering something from Amazon for my kiddo or husband, I also throw a few of these reasonably priced beauty aids into our cart. My current favorite are these super affordable Dermal Sheet Masks that cost roughly $13 for 24 sheets! They are luscious and relaxing and are a perfect example of ultimate cheap at home spa hacks.
There are hundreds to choose from, depending on your skincare needs. I love the hydrating version that contains a heaping amount of collagen. There are also masks for acne-prone skin and faces that need a bit more exfoliation.
Keep the sheets in the fridge before using for an even more relaxing experience.
The kids will love your monster-ish look while you are wearing the mask, and you will love the results!
#6 Clay Mask
Every now and then I’m lucky enough to slip away for a nice long soak in the tub. This is one of those cheap at home spa hacks that literally costs very little money.
Always the multi-tasker, I take the opportunity to put on a clay mask to deep clean my skin. I love the clean feeling I get after soaking for about 20 minutes (or for however long I can sneak away!) with a clay mask that helps to remove impurities and brighten skin.
Don’t forget to apply to the entire face, avoiding the eye area, the neck, and chest for clean and polished looking skin. I have been lucky enough to find some great clay masks at the drugstore at a moderate price point and find that brands such as L’Oreal and Olay are just as effective of the more expensive department store brands.
A great online option would be O’Naturals Dead Sea Mud Mask.
The next time you need a break, take a look in the pantry and see what ingredients you have that can turn into a relaxing and rejuvenating home spa experience! Pampering doesn’t have to cost you a fortune folks!
