Craft Supplies
All our fun kids crafts and printable activities require basic craft supplies that you either already have at home or will have an easy time finding at your local craft store or online via Amazon.
Here is what you’ll need to make this penguin paper craft:
- free printable penguin template – to make this easy penguin craft you’ll need our penguin craft template that can be found at the very bottom of this blog post.
- Paper – you’ll need orange construction paper, black construction paper and white card stock
- Glue stick
- Scissors – if you’re crafting with younger kids we highly recommend these blunt time scissors
- Black marker
- Googly eyes (optional)
Instructions
Step 1: Print a copy of our free printable template. The printable penguin craft template can be found at the very bottom of this blog post. Cut out the various parts of the penguin’s body including the penguin’s belly, feet, beak and arms.
Step 2: Trace the penguin’s body and arms onto black construction paper and cut it out. Adult supervision and help may be required if you are crafting with especially young children.
Step 3: Create the penguin’s orange beak and feat by tracing these parts onto orange construction paper and cutting them out.
Step 4: Using a small amount of glue, stick the penguin’s arms to his black body.
Step 5: Glue the penguin’s white belly to his body using a small amount of glue.
Step 6: Create the cute penguins eyes by cutting two circles out of white card stock. Use the black marker to draw the penguin’s pupils.
*You can opt not to make your penguin eyes if you are crafting with very young children. Instead, try using large googly eyes!
Step 7: Glue the eyes onto upper part of the penguin’s black body using a dot of glue.
Step 8: Glue the penguin’s orange beak and feet onto the penguin’s body using a small dot of glue for each part.
Step 9: Display your printable penguin craft for all to see! This cute penguin activity would make great bulleting board or classroom door decorations if you are looking for a cold weather penguin theme.
