This printable activity gets kids moving while they scour the neighborhood finding a variety of Earth day items.

Although it was created with k-2 children in mind, it’s still a great activity for older children in upper elementary and middle school.

It’s the perfect way discuss environmental issues including global warming and what small changes we can make to better take care of the earth.

From swapping out a plastic bag for a reusable one and ditching a plastic bottle for a refillable one, these small changes make a positive impact on our beautiful planet.

This Earth Day scavenger hunt is one of our favorite outdoor activities for celebrating Earth day.

Children of all ages really enjoy getting outdoors and using check marks or tally marks to mark off the Earth Day specific items as they find them. 

Head out on a nature walk or to a local park to start finding the items included in this Earth day scavenger hunt.

Kids always have a great time searching and finding the items during their time outdoors.

My free scavenger hunt for Earth Day was created with young children in mind.

So, it’s one of our free printables that is very eye catching and colorful. It’s easy enough to use for preschool and kindergarten children yet engaging enough for older kids in upper elementary and middle school.

The Earth day scavenger hunt free printable is a digital download that was created to be printed in color and on high quality white cardstock or regular printer paper in 8.5 x 11 size.

This free printable scavenger hunt can technically be printed in black and white but I don’t find it’s as eye catching without all the bright and fun colors. 

To download simply continue scrolling to the bottom of the post where you’ll find a download link.

Once you find the download link you will need to click it to download the pdf file to your computer.

The pdf document will open in a new window where you can confirm your printer settings are set to color and portrait orientation before printing as many copies as you need.
