One of our favorite summer hobbies is growing our own food. It’s a great way to get outdoors more, produces delicious herbs and veggies and it’s pesticide free. So, growing our own vegetables is an important activity we undertake every summer both to save some money and have fun.

One of the very first things we added to this house when we moved in 3 years ago was a garden. We are fortune to have a sizeable amount of land here so installing a garden was an easy choice for us.

But, not all folks have access to a garden based on space. So, I we wanted to create a collection of alternative ways to grow your own food if you’re limited on space or new and just want to try it out.

These clever ways to start growing your own food use recycled goods and small DIY projects to create containers that are suitable for growing lettuce, tomatoes and herbs. But, you can grow just about anything you’d like using these creative ideas.
