What’s Included in These Thanksgiving Worksheets?
Our Thanksgiving printable pack includes 10 different worksheets designed to make early learning fun.
Here’s a closer look at each activity.
1. Thanksgiving Vocabulary Worksheet

This Thanksgiving vocabulary worksheet is a fun way to introduce children to seasonal words.
Kids look at 12 colorful Thanksgiving pictures and use the word bank to write the correct word underneath each image.
The worksheet includes familiar Thanksgiving and fall vocabulary such as turkey, cornucopia, pilgrim, pumpkin, pie, acorn, scarecrow, and more.
Skills practiced: Vocabulary development, word recognition, letter formation, and early writing.
For younger preschoolers, you can read the words aloud and help them identify the matching pictures before attempting to write.
2. Thanksgiving Counting Worksheet

This Thanksgiving counting activity gives children practice counting objects and identifying numbers.
Kids count groups of Thanksgiving turkeys, pumpkin pie slices, and acorns before coloring the circle containing the correct number.
It’s a simple activity that encourages children to count carefully and connect quantities with written numerals.
Skills practiced: One-to-one correspondence, counting, number recognition, and visual discrimination.
3. Thanksgiving Patterns Worksheet

This Thanksgiving cut-and-paste patterns worksheet combines early math with hands-on fine motor practice.
Children look at five different Thanksgiving-themed patterns and figure out which picture comes next.
Then, they cut out the pictures at the bottom of the page and glue them into the correct boxes to complete each pattern.
Skills practiced: Pattern recognition, sequencing, logical thinking, cutting, and gluing.
I especially love this activity for preschool math centers because it gives children an opportunity to practice several important skills at once.
4. Thanksgiving Picture Vocabulary Worksheet

This Thanksgiving vocabulary activity is perfect for children who are beginning to recognize familiar words.
Kids look at each Thanksgiving picture and choose between two possible words, coloring the box with the correct answer.
The pictures include an acorn, turkey, pumpkin, scarecrow, cornucopia, pumpkin pie, and other seasonal favorites.
Skills practiced: Vocabulary, early reading, picture recognition, and visual discrimination.
This is a great worksheet to complete together during small-group instruction or as an independent activity for children who are ready to practice word recognition.
5. Thanksgiving Scissor Skills Worksheet

Little hands will get lots of cutting practice with this Thanksgiving scissor skills worksheet!
Children follow four different cutting paths leading toward Thanksgiving-themed pictures.
The paths include zigzags, straight lines, stepped lines, and curves, giving children opportunities to practice different cutting movements.
Skills practiced: Scissor control, hand-eye coordination, bilateral coordination, and fine motor development.
For preschoolers who are still learning to use scissors, encourage them to work slowly and focus on following the lines rather than cutting perfectly.
6. Thanksgiving Tracing Worksheet

This Thanksgiving tracing activity is a fun way to practice pencil control and prewriting skills.
Children trace five different paths featuring Thanksgiving pictures, including apples, a pilgrim hat, a turkey, and a cornucopia.
With zigzags, loops, corners, and curved lines, this worksheet provides plenty of opportunities to practice the movements needed for early writing.
Skills practiced: Pencil grip, hand-eye coordination, tracing, and prewriting.
Try placing this worksheet inside a reusable dry-erase pocket so children can practice the lines more than once.
7. Thanksgiving Picture and Word Matching Worksheet

This Thanksgiving matching worksheet helps children connect familiar seasonal pictures with written words.
Kids draw lines to match Thanksgiving pictures with their corresponding vocabulary words.
The worksheet includes 10 words, such as acorn, turkey, scarecrow, pie, apples, pumpkin, leaf, pilgrim, corn, and cornucopia.
Skills practiced: Vocabulary development, word recognition, visual scanning, and matching.
You can also turn this into a small-group literacy activity by reading each word aloud and having children find the corresponding picture.
8. Thanksgiving Missing Numbers Worksheet

This adorable pumpkin-themed counting worksheet is perfect for practicing number order.
Children look at a collection of pumpkins arranged in a counting sequence from 1 to 10 and fill in the missing numbers.
The pumpkins are decorated with cute gingham bows, making this a fun seasonal alternative to traditional number sequencing worksheets.
Skills practiced: Number recognition, counting to 10, number sequencing, and numeral formation.
For extra practice, have children count aloud as they fill in each missing number.
9. Thanksgiving Cut and Paste Counting Worksheet

This hands-on Thanksgiving counting worksheet combines early math with cutting and gluing.
Children count five groups of Thanksgiving pictures, including pumpkin pies, Thanksgiving signs, cornucopias, corn, and a turkey.
Then, they cut out the numbers 1 through 5 and glue each number beneath the matching group.
Skills practiced: Counting, number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, scissor skills, and fine motor development.
This is a great activity for preschoolers who enjoy working with scissors and glue.
10. Thanksgiving I Spy Worksheet

Our Thanksgiving I Spy worksheet is a fun way to finish the printable pack!
Children search a colorful grid filled with Thanksgiving pictures, count how many times each picture appears, and write the totals in the boxes provided.
The activity features pumpkins, turkeys, acorns, pies, leaves, apples, cornucopias, and more.
Skills practiced: Counting, visual discrimination, attention to detail, number writing, and concentration.
This is one of my favorite types of printable activities because children are practicing important math skills while feeling like they’re playing a game.
Supplies You’ll Need
One of the best things about these Thanksgiving worksheets is that you don’t need many supplies to get started.
Here’s what I recommend having on hand:
- Printer paper or cardstock: Regular printer paper works perfectly for most of the activities.
- Crayons: Great for coloring pictures and completing the counting activities.
- Pencils: Perfect for tracing, writing numbers, and completing vocabulary worksheets.
- Kid-friendly scissors: You’ll need these for the patterns, scissor skills, and cut-and-paste counting activities.
- Glue sticks: Ideal for attaching the pictures and numbers on the cut-and-paste pages.
- Dry-erase pockets and markers (optional): A great way to make selected worksheets reusable.
My favorite classroom tip: If you’re planning to use these worksheets in a preschool or kindergarten classroom, consider slipping the tracing, matching, and counting pages into reusable dry-erase pockets. Children can practice the activities again and again without needing a fresh copy each time.
