Can we talk about food today? Specifically, cheap healthy snack options for kids? If you’re looking for delicious, easy and cheap healthy snacks to feed your kids then you’ve come to the right place.

My toddler is at an age where she’s constantly eating. Seriously, she’s always eating. She’s an awesome eater and has been since we first introduced solids which we are so incredibly grateful for. She’s really only shown a distaste for eggs and cheese but will gladly eat any veggie, fish or protein we give her.

This kiddo isn’t picky and has a healthy appetite which makes cooking and preparing meals for her super fun!

She’s always the first one in line at meal time! She knows where I keep her dishes, cutlery and cups and sets herself up to eat even before dinner is served!

Now that she’s snacking more and asking for food (Momma eat!) when she’s hungry we’ve had to start incorporating more cheap healthy snack options for kids into our weekly shopping trip.  Although she’ll gladly eat fruits or veggies for snacks I’ve challenged myself to try different snack combinations and recipes to keep things interesting.

I love these ideas! I’m always looking for more healthy snack ideas, and I loved that these went beyond your typical plain fruits and veggies list. (Not that fruits and veggies aren’t great … they just get old after awhile.)

I tried roasted chickpeas once, and they did not turn out well. I will have to try them again using your recipe/instructions. I really want to like them!

We love apple chips, too, but we do ours in the dehydrator.

Great list – I am excited to try some of them out soon!

I have no idea of the cost of chestnuts where you are but roasted and maybe sprinkled with a herb or spice, makes for a great snack
