Toilet paper Roll Polar Bear Craft
Did you know that February 27th is International Polar Bear Day? Cool hunh?
In honor of this, we created one of our cutest winter crafts yet.
This fun project recycles toilet paper rolls into cute polar bear crafts.
It would make a great addition to any lesson plans that explore the arctic – it’s a fun way to learn about the climate and animals who live there.
What we love most about this craft is that it’s a great way to learn more about these majestic arctic animals with younger children while working on good stuff like fine motor skills.
Making this craft is the perfect time to learn a little about the artic animals and fun facts about polar bears.
Supplies
All our fun crafts and printable activities require basic craft supplies that you either already have at home or will have an easy time finding at your local craft store or online via Amazon.
Here is what you’ll need to make this simple toilet paper roll polar bear:
- Polar bear template – the pdf files you’ll need to download can be found at the bottom of this post.
- Printer and white paper
- Toilet roll tubes – you can save your toilet paper rolls or order some cardboard tubes in bulk
- Construction paper – you’ll need a piece of white-cardstock or construction paper
- Marker
- Glue stick or white glue
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Googly eyes (optional)
Instructions
Step 1 – Print our free printable polar bear template and cut out the simple shapes. Use a pencil to trace each shape onto your piece of white cardstock paper.
Step 2 – Cut out the different parts of the polar bear’s body. We put the cut outs onto a black paper so you can see them better in the picture. Depending on the child’s cutting skills you make have to assist them with this step.
Step 3 – Using your black marker draw claws on the polar bears hands, paw pads on the feet and black spots on the eyes and ears.
Step 4 – Using a dab of glue, stick the polar bear’s feat onto the bottom of the toilet paper roll.
Step 5 – Glue the polar bear’s ears to the back of it’s head using a dot of glue.
Step 6 – Using a dot of glue, stick the polar bear’s onto either side of the toilet paper tube.
Step 7 – Glue the polar bear’s eyes on the upper part of the paper roll craft. You can also skip this step and use googly eyes! It’s up to you.
Step 8 – Using a marker draw the polar bear’s mouth to complete the polar bear’s face
Step 9 – Proudly display or play with your completed toilet paper roll polar bear craft.
