Supplies

  • Dad you rock card template – get a copy of the template in pdf format at the bottom of this blog post.
  • Cardstock – We recommend Neenah white cardstock for its durability and smooth finish.
  • Washable Paint – Choose your favorite colors for the handprint guitar design.
  • Glue – To securely attach guitar accessories to the handprint
  • Scissors – For cutting out the template and any extra details.
  • Markers, Crayons, or Colored Pencils – Use these to add vibrant finishing touches to your card.
  • Acrylic Paint Pen – Perfect for drawing the guitar strings with precision.

Instructions

Step 1: Print out the “Dad You Rock” card template on white cardstock.

Step 2: Choose your favorite paint color and carefully paint the child’s hand. Gently press it onto the card where the guitar should go. Set the card aside to dry.

Step 3: Once the card is dry, color in the guitar neck and the card border using any colors you like. This is where the fun creative freedom kicks in!

Step 4: Cut out the circle (sound hole) and rectangle (bridge) shapes. Use a small dab of glue to attach them to the handprint guitar.

Step 5: Grab your white acrylic paint pen and add the guitar strings for that perfect finishing touch!
