Paper Bag Apple Craft
Apple picking is one of our favorite things to do as a family during the fall.
It’s a great way to spend some screen free time outdoors picking delicious apples straight off an apple tree!
Our local apple orchard has loads of fun activities for kids including corn mazes, petting zoos, hay rides and even inflatables. So, it’s on our fall bucket list every year!
In honor of this special time of year we’ve created a fun paper bag apple craft for kids.
This simple paper bag craft is lots of fun for children of all ages. It would make a fun craft for school aged children exploring an apple unit in the classroom or for kids who enjoy being creative at home.
You can even use your paper apples to add some festive decoration to your space.
Our fun apple-themed craft is the perfect way to have some screen free fun while working on fine motor skills and encouraging creative imaginative play.

What You’ll Need
To make this easy craft you’ll need the following simple supplies. You can likely find all of these items at your local Dollar Tree or you can purchase via Amazon.
- Free printable apple shape template – to get started, you’ll need to snag a copy of the free printable apple template. To download simply scroll to the bottom of this post.
- Brown paper bag – we used a plain brown lunch bag that measures approximately 5 x 8 x 3 to make our paper apple craft. A little bigger or smaller will work fine too.
- Construction paper – you’ll need red, white, black, brown and green construction paper.
- Pencil – to trace the outline of the apple shape
- Scissors – we love using school safe blunt tip scissors for especially young children with little hands
- Googly eyes – you can opt to use googly eyes instead of making your own
- Double sided tape or glue – for gluing the apple shape to the top and bottom of the bag
- Craft stick (optional) – use a craft stick if you want to transform this into a paper bag puppet
How To Make A Paper Bag Apple Craft
Cut out the bottom and top of the apple template using scissors. Then trace the cut sections onto red construction paper.
Cut out the pieces of your apple.
Glue or tape the top and bottom of the apple to the paper bag. Don’t cover the entire bag because you’ll need to glue eyes and seeds on your craft in the next few steps.
Cut a stem and leaf out of construction paper. There is no stencil for this so draw it free hand. This makes each paper bag apple craft unique. Glue the leaf to the stem.
Glue the stem and leaf to the top of the bag.
Create black apple seeds by cutting them out of black construction paper.
Tape or glue your apple seeds to the front of the apple craft. Stagger them throughout the center of the apple.
Create eyes for your paper bag apple craft by cutting out 2 white circles and 2 smaller black circles. Glue the eyes to the front of your paper bag apple craft.
