Ingredients & Supplies
You’ll need a handful of ingredients you can pick up at your local grocery store to make our reindeer bark recipe.
Here are the simple ingredients you’ll need:
- baking sheet
- parchment paper, wax paper or silicone baking mat
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips – you can also use white chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips
- 12 mini pretzel twists
- 12 red M&M’s – for the noses
- Edible candy eyes
- 2 tablespoons green M&M’s – you can also use red M&M candy
- 1 teaspoon festive sprinkles
Instructions
Prepare Your Baking Sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, wax paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent the chocolate from sticking.
Melt the Chocolate: Melt the milk chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth.
Create the Chocolate Base: Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading it out evenly with a spatula to about 1/4 inch thick.
Decorate with Reindeer Faces: Place the 12 pretzel pieces onto the chocolate to create pretzel antlers.
Add 12 red M&M’s or other red chocolate candies below each set of antlers to reindeer noses.
Place small candy eyeballs above each red nose to complete the little reindeer faces.
Add Green M&M’s and Sprinkles: Scatter the green M&M’s and 1 teaspoon of red and green sprinkles over the Christmas chocolate bark while the chocolate is still wet for added festive color and texture.
Set the Chocolate: Let the reindeer chocolate bark sit at room temperature until fully set, or place it in the refrigerator for about 20-30 minutes to speed up the process.
You’ll know the chocolate is set when it darkens and loses it’s shine.
Break and Serve: Once the reindeer chocolate bark is completely set, break it into chocolate shards with your hands.
Enjoy your festive reindeer bark or package it up as a holiday treat in cellophane bags for friends and the whole family!

Ensure the chocolate is well melted and smooth for easy spreading.
Using a microwave-safe bowl and heating in 30 second intervals is the best way to get the chocolate to the perfect spreadable consistency without scorching it. Scrape down the edges of the bowl as you go.
Customize your bark with additional toppings like crushed candy canes, crushed crunchy pretzels, nuts, or dried fruit if desired.
