Earth Day is the perfect time to celebrate our planet while engaging kids in hands-on, screen-free fun!
This Earth Day lacing craft is a simple yet engaging activity that helps little hands develop essential fine motor skills like hand-eye coordination and dexterity.

Supplies
- Earth Day Template – Download the free PDF at the bottom of this post.
- White cardstock – to print your template.
- Markers, Colored Pencils, or Crayons – Add color and creativity to your Earth template.
- Scissors – Cut out the heart shape in the center of the template.
- Hole Punch – Create holes around the edges for lacing.
- Yarn – Use colorful yarn to thread through the holes and complete the craft.
Instructions
Print & Color – Print the Earth template on white cardstock. Use markers, crayons, or colored pencils to decorate your Earth. We used green for land and blue for water, but feel free to get creative!
Cut It Out – Carefully cut out the Earth shape with scissors. Then, poke a small hole in the center of the heart and cut it out as well.
Punch the Holes – Use a single hole punch to create evenly spaced holes around the edge of the heart.
Start Lacing – Choose your favorite color of yarn and thread it through the holes, weaving in and out to create a beautiful laced effect.
