Our printable letter C worksheets were created especially for preschool, pre-K and kindergarten learners who are beginning to recognize and write letters of the alphabet.
Instead of filling the pack with page after page of repetitive tracing, I included a variety of activities that let kids practice the letter C in different ways.
Children will trace uppercase and lowercase C, search for the letter among other letters, practice beginning sounds, use dot markers, color, cut and sort.

Trace Uppercase C
Kids start by practicing how to form an uppercase C.
The large example and several rows of dotted letters give young learners plenty of guided handwriting practice without making the page overwhelming.
This is a simple way to work on pencil control, proper letter formation and early handwriting skills.
Trace Lowercase c
Next, children practice forming lowercase c.
Repeated tracing gives preschoolers and kindergarteners an opportunity to become more comfortable with the curved motion used to form the letter.
I especially like pairing the uppercase and lowercase tracing pages so kids can begin noticing the similarities between C and c.
Find Uppercase C
Can you spot all the uppercase C’s?
Kids trace the letter and then search through a collection of letters to find and color every uppercase C.

Find Lowercase c
This activity works the same skills while focusing on lowercase c.
Children trace lowercase c and then search for it among several other lowercase letters.

Trace the Letter Cc
This is one of my favorite pages in the pack!
Kids can trace the large uppercase and lowercase letters before practicing smaller C’s and c’s underneath pictures of cake, cat, car and cookie. letter c worksheets
Encourage children to say each word aloud as they work to reinforce the connection between the letter C and its beginning sound.
The Letter C Coloring Worksheet
This worksheet combines alphabet practice with coloring.
Children color the uppercase and lowercase Cc and then identify and color the pictures that begin with C.
It’s an easy way to introduce beginning sounds while giving little hands some extra coloring and fine motor practice.
Do A Dot Uppercase C
Grab the dot markers!
Kids fill the circles inside the large uppercase C using a bingo dauber or dot marker.
No dot markers? You can easily use small pom-poms, bingo chips, stickers or even fingerprints instead.
Do A Dot Lowercase c
This page gives kids the same hands-on practice with lowercase c.
These do-a-dot pages are especially useful for preschool learners who aren’t quite ready for lots of pencil-and-paper handwriting practice yet.
C Is For…
This cut-and-paste activity combines beginning sounds with fine motor practice.
Kids color and cut out the pictures, decide which ones begin with the letter C, and glue the correct pictures onto the large uppercase C. letter c worksheets
Cutting, sorting and gluing also give children valuable practice using scissors and strengthening the small muscles in their hands.
Letter C Hunt
How many C’s can you find?
Children search through a collection of uppercase and lowercase letters and circle every C and c they can spot. letter c worksheets
Letter hunts are one of my favorite simple alphabet activities because kids have to distinguish the target letter from similar-looking letters.
Cut and Sort the Letter Cc
This hands-on sorting activity asks children to cut out individual letters and decide whether each one belongs in the Cc or Not Cc category. letter c worksheets
Besides reinforcing letter recognition, all that cutting and gluing is fantastic fine motor practice.
Circle the Pictures That Start With C
Finally, kids practice identifying the beginning sound of C.
Children say each picture name aloud and circle the pictures that start with the letter C. letter c worksheets
For younger learners, I recommend naming the pictures together first. Then, really emphasize the beginning sound: c-c-cookie, c-c-crab, c-c-car.
Skills Kids Practice
These letter C worksheets aren’t just about learning one letter. The different activities help young learners practice several important preschool and kindergarten skills at the same time.
Kids will work on uppercase and lowercase letter recognition, letter formation, beginning sounds, phonemic awareness, visual discrimination, pencil control, hand-eye coordination, scissor skills and fine motor development.
I also love that you can use the worksheets individually. There’s no need to complete the entire pack in one sitting.
Pick one or two pages that match the skill you’re currently working on and save the rest for another day.
Fun Ways To Use These Letter C Worksheets
You definitely don’t have to use these as traditional worksheets!
Slip the tracing pages into reusable dry-erase pockets so kids can practice them more than once. Use bingo chips or pom-poms instead of dot markers on the do-a-dot pages. You can even laminate some of the letter recognition pages and let kids circle C’s with a dry-erase marker.
For a letter C week, pair the worksheets with C-themed objects or activities. Look around the classroom for things that start with C, make a list of C words together, or collect pictures or do crafts of cats, cars, cookies, cows and crabs.
These little extensions help move the letter off the worksheet and into everyday learning.
