Made with a simple brown paper bag and some construction paper this pumpkin paper bag craft is lots of fun for kids of all ages.

With Halloween right around the corner we wanted to create a great Halloween craft for younger and older children alike. Add it to your Halloween bucket list.

And, since we cute crafts made from paper bags we knew we had to share this pumpkin craft with you.

If your a teacher you can have your students create a paper bag pumpkin to create your very own classroom pumpkin patch.

Supplies You’ll Need

To make our paper bag pumpkin craft you’ll need to the following tools and supplies.

  • Pumpkin template – to download the template you’ll need to make your own paper bag pumpkin craft simply fill in the download form found at the  bottom of this post.
  • Paper bag – we used small brown paper lunch bags
  • Construction paper –  black, pink, orange, white and yellow paper.
  • Scissorswe love these blunt tip safety scissors for kids.
  • Black and orange marker – for drawing the mouth and lines on your paper bag pumpkin craft
  • Double sided tape or glue stick – to glue the pumpkin pieces to the top part of the bag and bottom
  • Googly eyes (optional)

How To Make A Paper Bag Pumpkin Craft

Print a copy of our paper bag pumpkin craft template. Cut out the template and trace the pieces onto orange construction paper. Once you’ve traced your pumpkin shape cut the shape out.

Using a brown or orange marker, draw lines like you see on real pumpkins.

Glue the the pumpkin pieces to the bottom and top of the paper bag. Use the black marker to draw a smile on your pumpkin. Alternatively you can draw a Jack-O-Lantern face.

Cut 2 small circles out of your pink construction paper to create rosy cheeks. Glue or tape them to the edges of the pumpkins mouth.

Make the pumpkin’s eyes by cutting two small circles from the white and black paper and make sure the black is smaller than the white. Glue them together then attach them to the paper bag. You can also use googly eyes if you prefer.

Cut a rectangle shape from the brown paper to make the stem of the pumpkin. Cut a strip of green paper then gently swirl the scissor to make it curvy. You could also use a green pipe cleaner.

Attach the stem and leaf shapes to the top of the bag to complete your pumpkin.
