Fun Giraffe Craft Ideas
This giraffe craft using our printable giraffe template was such a fun activity to do. We opted to make this a mixed media project for some unstructured crafting fun. As much as we really enjoy crafting we also like getting carried away and doing our own thing – so this craft was the perfect choice.
We pulled out our box of craft supplies and sorted through to find a variety of different odds and ends. We love how this craft doesn’t require anything special and uses up old craft supplies you may have left over from a variety of different craft projects from the last few months.
We opted to use pieces of tan felt, brown foam, pom poms, glitter glue and markers to create our giraffe craft. Using scissors we created different shapes and sizes to glue over the giraffe head, body and legs.
Anything goes here so let kids work on their fine motor skills while using scissors to cut their materials. We used a good quality comfort grip safety scissor to make cutting easier for our 8 year old. We find this set from Amazon sit really well in a child’s hand – I highly recommend them because they are both comfortable and give children control over their cutting.
We used regular school glue to stick our pieces of felt and foam to the body of our giraffe. Markers and glitter glue helped us create a sun, clouds and grass.
Once done, we let our finished product air dry for a few hours in a sunny spot so everything was good and stuck. We had so much fun creating this giraffe craft from odds and ends!
