What You’ll Need
Here are the simple supplies you’ll need to make our paper bag corn craft.
- paper bag corn craft – to download the free corn husk template you will need to fill in the form located at the bottom of this post.
- brown paper lunch bag – we used a plain brown paper bag that measures approximately 5 x 8 x 3 to make our paper apple craft. A little bigger or smaller will work fine too. There are no specific requirements about bag size.
- construction paper – you’ll need black, yellow, green, pink & white paper to make this craft
- glue stick or double sided tape
- scissors – we love using school safe blunt tip scissors for especially young children with little hands
- Googly eyes – depending on a child’s age you can opt to use googly eyes instead of making your own with construction paper.
- Black marker
- Pencil and pencil eraser – to trace the outline of the corn husk
How To Make A Paper Bag Corn Craft
Cut out the left and right side of the corn husk and trace it on green construction paper before cutting it again. Using scissors gently curl the top of your corn husks. Adult supervision and help will be required when completing this step with really small children.
Using glue or double sided tape stick the corn husks to the bottom of the bag.
Cut a rectangle out of yellow paper. Using scissors cut strips into the rectangle to create strands of hair. Stick the hair to the back of the paper bag so that it falls over the front of the bag creating bangs.
Make eyes for your corn craft by cutting small circles from white and black paper. Make sure the black circles are smaller than the white circles. Glue them together then stick them to the paper bag. If you’re crafting with especially young children you can skip this step by using googly eyes – it’s a fun twist to this easy corn cob craft.
Draw a cute smile on your paper bag corn craft using a marker.
Cut out two small circles from the pink paper to make rosy cheeks for your paper bag corn craft. Glue the circles on both sides of the smile you drew.
