Jack-O-Lantern Craft
Celebrate Halloween with a festive Jack-O-Lantern craft that’s perfect for kids of all ages!
This simple paper craft is a fun and creative way to get into the spooky spirit, making it ideal for classroom activities, bulletin board displays, and Halloween-themed decorations.
With our free printable Jack-O-Lantern craft template, kids can mix and match faces to design their own unique pumpkins—silly, spooky, or sweet!
Supplies Needed for This Jack-O-Lantern Craft:
- Free Jack-O-Lantern Craft Template – Grab your printable copy at the bottom of this blog post
- Colored Cardstock – 1 sheet each of orange, green and white
- Black Marker – For coloring in the Jack-o-lantern’s face
- Scissors – Child-safe scissors work great
- Glue Stick or Liquid Glue – Whichever you prefer for paper crafts
How To Make This Jack-O-Lantern Craft
Step 1: Print the Jack-O-Lantern craft template.
- Print page 1 (pumpkin shape) on orange cardstock.
- Print page 2 (jack-o-lantern faces) on white cardstock.
Optional Tip: Don’t have colored cardstock? Print both pages on white cardstock and have kids color the pumpkin and stem with markers, crayons, or colored pencils.
Step 2: Carefully cut out the pumpkin shape.
- If you used orange cardstock, trim off the stem.
- If using white cardstock, leave the stem intact so kids can color it in.
Step 3: Choose a jack-o-lantern face from the template and color it in using a black marker. Let kids mix and match face pieces to come up with their own spooky or silly creations.
Step 4: Cut out the face pieces with scissors.
Step 5: Glue the face pieces onto the pumpkin. Encourage creativity—there’s no wrong way to decorate a jack-o-lantern!
Step 6: Cut out a small piece of green card stock to create the stem. Using a small amount of glue, stick it to the top of your jack-o-lantern craft.
