I’m so excited to share a printable Christmas tic tac toe game with you today. If you’re a fan of the classic game then you’re really going to enjoy this Christmas tic-tac-toe that I created.
My daughter loves playing Christmas games which works out well because I love creating fun printables for my blog.
So far, I’ve created a Chrsitmas Bingo printable, Scavenger hunt, I Spy Christmas, Christmas trivia, Christmas word search and a Christmas color by number coloring pages for the Christmas holiday.
So, I knew I had to create and add a game of tic tac toe to our growing collection.
This free printable game of tic-tac-toe is the perfect way to spend some quality time with your child during the Christmas season.
It’s also a lot of holiday fun when included in lesson plans, during family game night, in a holiday bucket list or at a Christmas party.

How To Play Tic Tac Toe
Our printable Christmas tic tac toe game functions like a classic game of tic tac toe.
To play, two players need to first decide on a mark.
Traditionally, players use X and O but since this is a printable Christmas tic tac toe you can get creative and use festive game pieces, candy, erasers and much more. (See some alternate marker suggestions down below).
Once the players have decided on their mark, the first player begins by putting their mark or playing piece on an empty square on the tic tac toe board.
The second player then places their mark and the two players begin to alternate turns until one players gets 3 marks in a row.
The first player to get 3 marks and make vertical, diagonal or horizontal lines wins!
When To Play Christmas Tic Tac Toe
Christmas party – our printable Christmas tic tac toe is a great boredom buster for kids at a Christmas party. Pair our tic tac toe game board with Christmas bingo, word search and I Spy for even more holiday fun.
Christmas Eve – start a new holiday tradition on Christmas eve by playing a couple of friendly rounds of tic tac toe. Enjoy sitting around the christmas tree, sipping hot cocoa and munching on Christmas popcorn to make it even more special.

Supplies
- Printer – our printable Christmas tic tac toe printable was created in festive colors to make it more visually appealing. So, we suggest using a color printer to print the game. We love this HP All In One Color Printer from Amazon.
- Printer paper – a heavier paper like card stock is always a good idea when printing activities for kids. Until approximately the 4th grade, kid’s little hands press really hard when they write and can easily rip through the paper.
- Laminator– make your printable Christmas tic tac toe game reusable by laminating it.
- Dry erase markers – a must if you go the laminating route. Dry erase markers make our printable Christmas tic tac toe reusable.
