A fun craft idea for kids in preschool, kindergarten and primary school this adorable Santa craft is an great way to work on fine motor skills including scissor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Craft Supplies
Making this printable Santa craft requires very simple supplies you can purchase at your local dollar store on online via Amazon.
Here’s what you’ll need to make this holiday craft:
- Printable Santa craft template – the free printable template (pdf format) you’ll need for this fun activity can be found at the very bottom of this post.
- Construction paper – black, yellow, red pink and white
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pencil for tracing
- Black marker
- Googly eyes (optional)
How To Make A Printable Santa Craft
Step 1: Print a copy of our printable Santa craft. Using scissors cut out the template pieces – in all you will have 6 different elements.
Step 2: Cut a large circle out of your red sheet of paper. To cut a nice circle shape fold your piece of red construction paper in half and draw a half circle. Use scissors to cut out the circle. Fold it in half as Santa’s body is formed by a half circle.
Step 3: Use a pencil to trace Santa’s head onto a piece of white construction paper. Cut it out.
Step 4: Glue Santa’s head to the red half circle body you created in step 2.
Step 5: Draw a round face shape on your construction paper and cut it out. This will become Santa’s face.
Using a dab of glue stick Santa’s face onto his head.
Step 6: Trace Santa’s hat onto red paper and the brim of the hat onto with paper. Cut both pieces out. To create your Santa hat glue the white brim onto the red hat.
Step 7: Using a few dots of glue, stick Santa’s hat to the top of his head.
Step 8: Trace the moustache template onto white paper and cut it out. Cut out a white circle and a red circle.
Step 9: Glue the white circle to the top of the hat to create Santa’s pom pom. Glue the moustache onto Santa’s face and then glue the red nose onto the moustache.
Step 10: Trace Santa’s belt onto black construction paper and the buckle on yellow paper. Cut both our and glue them together to create Santa’s belt.
Step 11: Using a a few dots of glue, stick Santa’s belt onto his body below his head.
Step 12: Cut 2 white circle out of your white paper and use a marker to draw Santa’s eyes.
Step 13: Using a a dot of glue, stick each eye onto Santa’s face.
