This adorable Santa beard Christmas countdown printable is a fun way for young children to countdown to Christmas day.
Santa Beard Christmas Countdown Printable
The holiday season is right around the corner. So, we wanted to create a fun Christmas calendar that little kids can use to countdown to the big day.
What we came up with is a Santa beard Christmas countdown printable that’s so much fun.
It’s an easy craft idea that children can work on as Christmas approaches.
This printable Santa advent calendar has kiddos filling in Santa’s beard starting on December 1st.
Kids will then glue a cotton ball or pom pom onto each corresponding day in December.
By Christmas Eve Santa’s beard will be a full beard which signals Santa’s arrival on December 25th.
What makes this craft extra special is that while kids are focused on the anticipation of Santa they simultaneously learning about the passing of time.
So, this cute Santa beard countdown is a easy way to introduce important calendar and time concepts to young children.
What You Need
Our Santa beard Christmas countdown printable requires very basic supplies that you’ll find in just about every kids craft room or craft box.
Here is what you’ll need to use to make your own Santa beard Christmas countdown printable craft:
- Santa beard Christmas countdown printable – to download our Santa beard countdown calendar fill in the form and the end of this post. The link to the digital printable file will be emailed to you.
- Color printer and white card stock – we highly recommend using high quality card stock and a color printer for our digital download. You can print using standard white paper although the quality of the physical item is really inferior.
- Glue stick or glue dots – it really comes down to personal preference. Children can use a dab of glue or dot sticker to glue cotton balls or white pom-pom to the Santa bear countdown printable.
- White pom poms or white cotton balls – either works! We used cotton balls on our Santa beard advent calendar because that’s what we had handy.
- Hole punch or dot markers – if you want to skip the cotton balls/pom poms you can also use a hole punch or dot markers to mark off the days. Certainly not as fun but gets the job done with these types of printable advent calendars. This type of craft isn’t too unlike traditional dot marker printables.
Santa Beard Countdown Printable
Using our Santa’s beard Christmas countdown is simple.
Have children work on their fine motor skills by using a glue dot or dab of glue to stick their own cotton balls/pom-poms to Santa’s beard.
A cute little poem on the top center of the paper explains to children that their job is to help build Santa’s beard.
With especially young children you may have to practice number recognition by helping them figure out the date while they use the Santa Christmas countdown calendar.
As the days pass, it would be helpful to discuss how many days are left until Christmas morning so they understand the concept of time passing.
A fun way to explain it is to have them understand that lots of cotton balls means a lot of time has passed.
