Supplies

- Contact paper or self-adhesive laminating sheets – a must for mess-free crafting!
- Scissors – kid-safe scissors for little hands)
- Tape or string – to display your suncatcher when it’s done!
Instructions
Step 1: Print & Cut Out the Shamrock Template
Start by printing out our free shamrock template on cardstock. Carefully cut along the inner edge of the shamrock – kind of like a shamrock-shaped frame!
Step 2: Stick the Shamrock to Contact Paper
Take a sheet of contact paper (or a self-laminating sheet) and peel off the backing. Place your shamrock outline face down onto the sticky side, making sure the black outline is facing downward. Press it down gently to make sure it sticks well.
Step 3: Add Color with Tissue Paper
Now for the fun part—creating your rainbow effect! Cut or tear small squares of tissue paper in all the colors of the rainbow. Start sticking them inside the shamrock outline, overlapping colors to create a beautiful stained-glass effect. Keep going until the entire space inside the shamrock is covered with colorful tissue paper!
Craft Tip* Make life easier with pre-cut tissue paper squares! They’re perfect for kids’ crafts—no extra cutting, no mess, just fun! 🎨✨We LOVE these tissue paper squares from Amazon.
Step 4: Seal with Another Layer of Contact Paper
Once you’re happy with your design, take a second sheet of contact paper and carefully place it on top, sealing in all the tissue paper pieces. Press down gently to remove any air bubbles.
Step 5: Trim & Display!
Use scissors to cut around the shamrock shape, leaving a small border to keep everything sealed. Now, your rainbow shamrock suncatcher is ready to display! Use a small piece of tape or punch a hole at the top and add a string to hang it in a sunny window—watch as the light shines through, making your shamrock glow with color! 🌞💚
