School Bus Photo Craft
Celebrate the start of a brand-new school year with this fun and meaningful school bus photo craft!
This hands-on activity is a great way to help kids practice name recognition while creating a sweet keepsake featuring their photo.
Whether you’re a teacher looking for a first-week-of-school project or a parent preparing for back-to-school season, this craft is a memorable and educational way to mark the occasion.
Supplies
- School Bus Photo Craft Template – available for download at the bottom of this post
- White Cardstock – we recommend Neenah white for a sturdy, high-quality finish
- Coloring Tools – markers, crayons, or colored pencils work great
- Scissors & Glue – basic school supplies for assembling the craft
- Child’s Photo – crop to approximately 2 inches tall to fit neatly in the bus window
- Black Marker or Sharpie – for outlining or adding extra details
Instructions
Download and Print the Template
Start by printing the school bus photo craft template on white cardstock for best results. You can find the template at the bottom of this post.
Color the School Bus
Use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to color in the school bus. Encourage kids to be creative with their color choices!
Cut Out the Bus Pieces
Carefully cut out the colored bus and name circles.
Prepare the Photo
Trim your child’s photo to approximately 2 inches in height so it fits nicely in the bus window. You can use scissors or crop it digitally before printing.
Glue the Photo in Place
Attach the photo behind the bus window using glue, making sure it’s centered and secure.
Add the Name
Spell out your child’s name using the letter circles from the template. Glue each letter along the bottom of the bus to complete the craft.
Add Finishing Touches
Use a black marker or Sharpie to outline details or add extra designs if desired.
Display and Enjoy!
Once dry, proudly display the finished bus craft on a bulletin board, fridge, or classroom wall!
