- Markers, crayons, or colored pencils – Whatever you’ve got on hand will work!
- Scissors – For cutting out all the watermelon pieces.
- Glue stick – To assemble your watermelon slice.
- Black Sharpie or black marker – Perfect for drawing a cute watermelon mouth.

Instructions
Print the template – Grab a copy of our free watermelon template and print it on good-quality white cardstock. We love Neenah white because it’s nice and sturdy for little hands! Carefully cut out all the parts of the template, including the watermelon slice, seeds, and eyes.
Color it in – Use markers, crayons, or colored pencils to color the watermelon slice. Go with pink or red for the fruit and green for the rind.
Add the eyes – Use a small amount of glue to stick the eyes onto your watermelon slice.
Prepare the seeds – Color the seeds black using a marker, crayon, or colored pencil.
Glue the seeds – You’ll need one seed for each letter in the child’s name. So, if the child’s name is five letters long, glue five seeds onto the watermelon slice.
Write the letters – Use a white acrylic paint pen to write one letter of the child’s name on each seed. Finish it off by drawing a cute little mouth below the eyes with a black Sharpie or marker.
