Here’s what you’ll need to make your rainbow name craft:

  • Rainbow Template – Grab the free printable PDF at the bottom of this post!
  • Cardstock Paper – We love using 110 lb. Neenah white for a sturdy craft.
  • Markers, Crayons, or Colored Pencils – Pick your favorites to bring your rainbow to life!
  • Scissors – For little hands, safety scissors work great.
  • Glue Stick – Easy and mess-free for sticking it all together.
  • Black Marker or Sharpie – Perfect for outlining and making names pop!

Instructions

Step 1: Print & Color

Print a copy of the rainbow template (grab yours at the bottom of this post!). Then, let your little artist color in the rainbow and shamrocks using markers, crayons, or colored pencils. This is a great way to build fine motor skills and encourage creativity!

Step 2: Cut It Out

Carefully cut out all the pieces—rainbow and shamrocks. Cutting helps strengthen hand muscles and improves scissor skills, which are super important for early writing development!

Step 3: Write the Name

Using a Sharpie or black marker, write one letter of the child’s name on each small shamrock. This simple step helps reinforce letter recognition and name spelling!

Step 4: Glue It Together

Add a small dab of glue behind each shamrock and place them in order along the rainbow. Watch as your child’s name takes shape in a fun and festive way!
