Easy Pumpkin Craft For Kids

Halloween-time is quickly approaching. So, I’ve been busy creating a bunch of different Halloween crafts to share here on the blog.

Today, I’m excited to share this cute easy pumpkin craft for kids. It’s a simple Halloween craft idea that you can make with a few basic supplies like construction paper and glue.

Not only is this easy pumpkin craft really cute – no room for scary Halloween crafts here! But, it’s also really awesome because it works on really good skills like cutting with scissors, hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and creativity.

Craft Supplies

All the crafts we create, this easy pumpkin craft included use very simple craft supplies.

You can purchase these at your local dollar or craft store or online via Amazon.

  • construction paper or card stock in black, brown, orange and yellow
  • safety scissors – when crafting with really young children we highly recommend blunt tip safety scissors.
  • glue stick
  • pencil

How To Make an Easy Pumpkin Craft

Print a copy of our free pumpkin craft template. To download the template in PDF format fill in the form located at the bottom of this blog post. The template contains the shapes to create the pumpkin, stem and jack-o-lantern face. Cut out each shape and set aside.

Trace the pumpkin shapes onto construction paper. We used orange paper for the larger shape and yellow for the smaller. Cut out the shapes.

Assemble the body of your pumpkin by gluing the yellow shape to the orange.

Trace the pumpkin step on brown construction paper or cardboard and cut it out. Glue it to the back of your pumpkin shape.

Trace the jack-o-lantern’s eyes and mouth on black construction paper and cut them out. Glue the pumpkins face onto the front of your pumpkin.
