It’s the perfect little keepsake for Mother’s Day—sweet, simple, and full of love.
With tiny handprints and finger prints turned into flowers with a darling little poem, this handprint Mother’s day craft is a fun way for kids to create something extra special for mom to cherish forever.
Supplies You’ll Need
- Handprint Mother’s Day Craft Template – Grab the template with the flower pot and sweet poem at the bottom of this post.
- Cardstock – Choose your favorite color for printing the flower pot. You’ll also need a second sheet as the background for building your craft.
- Scissors – For cutting out the flower pot template.
- Glue Stick or Craft Glue – To assemble your handprint bouquet onto the cardstock.
- Acrylic Paint – Use green for the handprint stems and a mix of bright colors for the fingerprint flowers.
- Craft Apron or Old T-Shirt – Things might get a little messy—protect those clothes while the kids create!
How to Make Your Handprint Mother’s Day Craft
- Print the Flower Pot Template – Start by printing the flower pot template on your favorite color of cardstock. It includes a sweet little Mother’s Day poem that makes this craft extra special!
- Cut Out the Pot – Carefully cut around the edges of the flower pot. Little hands might need a grown-up helper for this part!
- Paint Those Hands! – Use green acrylic paint to coat the palm and fingers of one hand—this will be the stems and leaves of your flowers. Gently press it onto a second sheet of cardstock, just above where you’ll glue the pot.
- Add Fingerprint Flowers – Once the green paint is dry, dip a fingertip into bright colors to create little flower petals at the top of each finger “stem.” Use a different color for the center if you’d like!
- Glue It All Together
When everything is dry, glue the flower pot just below the handprint so it looks like the flowers are blooming out of the pot. - Let It Dry and Admire! – Give your craft some time to dry completely. Once it’s ready, you’ll have an adorable keepsake that Mom will love forever!
