Monsters aren’t always scary and these monster coloring pages are proof! Our free monster coloring pages are a great screen free activity for kids of all ages.
They’re an excellent way to help kids with a fear of monsters learn that they’re not all that scary. In fact, monsters can be cute and silly too!
Free Printable Monster Coloring Pages
My daughter has been afraid of monsters under her bed and monsters in her closet for as long as I can remember.
We’ve used homemade monster spray (water + lavender essential oils in a spray bottle), read silly monster books and most recently colored cute monster coloring pages to help her manage her fear of monsters.
We named our monsters and acted silly coming up with funny voices for them to help her face her fear of monsters.
By the time we finished coloring, we were both belly laughing – suddenly the monsters weren’t so scary.
So, I’m very excited to add these free printable monster coloring pages to our collection of free printable coloring sheets.
Cute and silly, these adorable little creatures are a great way to help young children manage their fear of monsters.
What You’ll Get
Each downloadable pdf file comes with 8 cute monster coloring pages.
Each coloring page prints on standard size 8.5 x 11 paper.

Benefits of Coloring
My teacher brain needs to tell you all the ways that coloring is amazing and how it helps young children.
From practicing fine motor skills to getting kids to talk about their feelings, fears and experiences, coloring is such a valuable (and underrated) activity for kids.
If you’re in a rush and want to skip straight to the download, scroll to the bottom of this post.
Otherwise, let me tell you why we LOVE coloring.
Fine Motor Skills
Coloring plays a vital role in improving a child’s fine motor skills.
While they grip pencils, markers or wax crayons they are working towards mastering the art of coloring within the lines which requires hand-eye co-ordination and precision.
This helps their writing and penmanship as they get older.
Creativity
Creativity is at the core of coloring. As children make decisions about colors and where they want to use in them in the picture they are expressing their creativity and decision making skills.
The freedom coloring provides allows children to experiment with different types of coloring tools and coloring techniques.
All these things encourage children to think creatively and explore new ideas.
Encourages Relaxation
Coloring is a wonderful way to help kids relax and unwind.
Research shows that coloring has the same relaxing effect as meditation.
While children concentrate on coloring they begin to focus more on their art rather than their worries making it a great way to help with anxiety.
Encourages Self-Expression
As children color they use colors in their artwork to express their thoughts and feelings.
By doing this, especially young children are given the opportunity to process their feelings and emotions which is vital to creating healthy coping mechanisms as they grow older.
