Not only is this paper bag acorn craft a fun activity for children in the fall but it’s also a fun way to work on fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination related to tracing, cutting and gluing. You can proudly display a child’s project as part of your autumn decor at home or in the classroom.

Supply List
Here are the simple supplies you’ll need to make paper bag acorns.
- paper bag acorn craft template – to snag a copy of the free template you’ll need to make this craft simply fill in the download form found at the bottom of this blog post.
- brown paper lunch bag – brown paper lunch bags work well. We used these simple brown paper bags we found on Amazon.
- construction paper – you’ll need a piece of construction paper in black, brown and pink.
- scissors – we love to use blunt tip or semi-blunt tip scissors when we are crafting for kids. The comfort grip they provide is perfect for little hands.
- glue stick or double sided tape
- marker
- pencil
- googly eyes (optional) – a good choice if you’re working with really young kids and would prefer to use premade eyes.
How To Make A Paper Bag Acorn Craft
Print a copy of our paper bag acorn craft template and cut out the top and bottom of your acorn.
Trace the acorn top and bottom onto brown paper and cut out the pieces. Using a black marker outline the edges of your acorn and draw wavy lines across the top part of your acorn. We drew 3 wavy lines to give our acorn cap texture.
Glue your acorn cap to the top of your paper bag and glue the bottom of the acorn to the bottom of the bag.
Make a set of eyes by cutting two small circles from the white and black construction paper. The black circles need to be smaller than the white. Glue the small white circle to the black circle to create eyes. Glue the eyes to the upper part of the paper bag acorn craft. Googly eyes are optional but a great option when you’re crafting with really young children who may struggle to make eyes.
Cut two small circles from the pink construction paper to create rosy cheeks. Glue them on the left and right of the paper bag acorn craft’s face to create cheeks.
Using a marker, draw a small smile or smirk on your paper bag acorn craft.
