Halloween is right around the corner and this paper plate candy corn craft is a fun and creative activity for kids in preschool, kindergarten and early elementary school.
A fun non scary Halloween craft, this candy corn activity works on good stuff like fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Paper Paper Plate Candy Corn Craft
Candy corn and Halloween just got so well together, don’t they?
So, I knew I wanted to add a cute candy corn craft to my growing collection of easy Halloween crafts for kids.
What I came up with is this non-scary pom pom candy corn Halloween craft that requires kids glue a variety of yellow, orange and white pom-poms to a paper plate.
This simple craft is not only fun but it’s also cheap to make and easy enough even for the youngest little crafter.
Craft Supplies
My simple paper plate candy corn craft requires very basic kid’s crafting supplies.
You can pick up these materials at your local dollar store or online via Amazon.
This is what you’ll need:
- Large paper plate – you’ll want to use a paper plate that children can easily cut using scissors.
- Scissors
- Googly eyes
- Black marker
- Glue
- Yellow pom poms
- Orange pom poms
- White pom poms
Instructions
Create the candy corn shape by cutting your paper plate in 3 pieces. A candy corn shape should have three sections: a pointed top, a wider middle, and a rounded bottom.
Create the face by gluing two googly eyes near the top section of the candy corn shape.
Using the black marker, draw a smiley face below the googly eyes.
Start gluing pom poms to your paper plate candy corn craft. Start at the bottom of the candy corn shape. Apply a generous amount of glue and start attaching the yellow pom poms. Cover the entire bottom section with yellow pom poms.
Next, move to the middle section. Apply glue and attach the orange pom poms, covering the entire middle section.
Finally, apply glue to the top section and attach the white pom poms, covering the entire top section.
Allow the glue to dry completely before handling the craft to ensure the pom poms stay in place.
Once dry, your candy corn pom pom paper plate craft is ready to be displayed!
You can hang use it to decorate your home or classroom for Halloween during the fall season.
