When I was young, I remember making paper fortune tellers with my friends starting in grade school.
We’d fold a square paper to create a paper toy that we’d have a great time using to tell jokes or ask fun facts questions in the classroom or in the school yard.
So, with the Thanksgiving break quickly approaching I created this cute Thanksgiving cootie catcher complete with funny Thanksgiving jokes for kids of all ages to enjoy.
It’s a fun screen free holiday activity for kids that they can proudly make themselves.
What we love most about this Thanksgiving cootie catcher is that it’s a great way for children to work on fine motor skills like hand eye coordination, paper cutting skills and folding.

How To Make A Thanksgiving Cootie Catcher
Print a copy of our thanksgiving-themed cootie catcher by filling in the form located at the bottom of this post.
Have children color in the Thanksgiving themed images using any type of colors they want – wax crayons, coloring pencils or markers. All types work well.
Have kids cut out the cootie catcher square by cutting along the outer perimeter of the square.
Put the printed side face down to start the folding process.
This may take a little practice for younger students. So, be patient!
Fold each corner inwards to the center. After this step all the numbered faces should be facing up.
Flip your cootie catcher over so the jokes are facing up. Fold each corner inwards to the center.
Fold the Thanksgiving cootie catcher in half. Use your fingers to pop the cootie catcher up to create the pockets.
