It’s spring – our favorite time to make creative and colorful crafts.
This rainbow cloud name craft is a great spring craftivity to make with preschool and kindergarten age to celebrate the arrival of warmer weather and spring blooms.
Simple to make, this rainbow cloud name craft is a fantastic way to help young children master name recognition while working on fine motor skills by cutting, gluing and assembling their own colorful craft.
Supplies
- Cloud template – get it at the bottom of this post.
- Cardstock – our go-to is Neenah white
- Markers, coloring pencils or wax crayons
- Scissors
- Glue
- Black marker or sharpie
Instructions
Color & Cut
Color the different parts of the template including the cloud and rainbow strips using your choice of markers or coloring pencils.
Write Name
Using a black marker or sharpie write the child’s name on the line.
Attach The Rainbow Strips
Use a small amount of glue to stick the rainbow strips to the cloud. Remember to only glue on as many rainbow strips as you’ll need. Each letter of the name will need a strip. So, 5 letter name = 5 strips.
Create The Face
Using a small amount of glue, stick the eyes and rosy cheeks onto your cloud. Use a black marker to draw a smile.
Write Name
Use each rainbow strip to write one letter of the child’s name!
