Cupcake Name Craft
Name crafts are some of my favorite activities to create for preschool and kindergarten-aged kids.
They’re simple, engaging, and offer a great way to combine creativity with early literacy skills.

Supplies
- Cupcake template – Grab a printable PDF version at the bottom of this post.
- White cardstock – We recommend Neenah White for its sturdiness and clean finish.
- Markers, colored pencils, or crayons – Any coloring tools your child prefers will work great.
- Child-safe scissors – For cutting out the template pieces.
- Glue stick or liquid glue – To assemble the cupcake.
- Black marker or Sharpie – Ideal for writing your child’s name clearly on the cupcake.
How to Make the Cupcake Name Craft
Print the template – Download and print the cupcake name craft template on high-quality white cardstock. We recommend using Neenah White for the best results.
Color the pieces – Use markers, colored pencils, or crayons to decorate the cupcake, letter circles, and eyes. You’ll need one letter circle for each letter in the child’s name.
Cut out the shapes – Carefully cut out the cupcake base, letter circles, and eyes using child-safe scissors.
Write the name – Use a black marker or Sharpie to write one letter of the child’s name on each circle.
Assemble the craft -Glue the eyes on the cupcake. Then, arrange and glue the letter circles in order to spell out the child’s name.
Add a smile – Finish your cupcake by drawing a smile with a black marker to give it some personality.
