This cute printable gingerbread man craft is so much fun to make during the holiday season.
All you’ll need is our printable gingerbread man craft template, construction paper and glue!
Printable Gingerbread Man Craft
Christmas-time and gingerbread people just go hand in hand don’t they? So, we created this adorable gingerbread craft and added it to our large collection of Christmas crafts for kids of all ages.
This simple holiday craft is a great way to have some screen free Christmas fun at home or in the classroom.
It’s the perfect craft to work on fine motor skills like scissors skills during the festive season. Plus, it’s a really fun craft that younger and older kids really enjoy since it comes together in a few very simple steps. It’s a great activity to boost holiday cheer.
The fun part? Use your finished gingerbread crafts to decorate your home, classroom door or bulletin board.
Craft Supplies
- Printable gingerbread man template – the free printable gingerbread man template can be found at the bottom of this post.
- Printer and white cardstock – we like to print out templates on card stock so they’re more sturdy. But, regular white paper would work fine too.
- Construction paper – plan to have black, green, pink, white and brown paper.
- Glue sticks
- Scissors
- Black marker
- Pencil
Instructions
Step 1: Print a copy of our printable gingerbread man craft. The download links for the free templates can be found at the very bottom of this post.
Cut out the different parts of the gingerbread man shape.
Step 2: Fold your piece brown cardstock in half. Cut out a circle. Our circle was about 6 inches in diameter. Different sizes would work too. Aim for 5-8 inches. Cut 2 oval shapes to make the gingerbread man’s arms.
Step 3: Trace the parts of the templates that are frosting onto white paper and cut them out.
Step 4: Glue the white frosting onto your gingerbread boy using a little glue.
Step 5: Trace the gingerbread boy’s bow tie on green paper and cut it out. Cut out two pink circles from your pink paper to create the gingerbread man’s rosy cheeks and create the eyes by cutting out two large white circles and two smaller black circles.
Step 6: Using a small dab of glue stick the gingerbread’s bow tie, eyes and rosy cheeks to his face.
Step 7: Cut a small mouth out of black paper.
Step 8: Complete your printable gingerbread man craft by using a small amount of glue to stick on the mouth.
Step 9: Display your adorable gingerbread men as part of your holiday decor, or get creative and come up with a creative gingerbread man story!
