Free Printable Reindeer Craft

In the mood for a little reindeer fun today? Good, because we created a fun little craft about Santa’s favorite reindeer.

The best thing about the holiday season is all the fun Christmas crafts and Christmas activities you can make with kids.

Today, we’re sharing an adorable reindeer craft that younger children can make to build Christmas cheer.

A fun craft to make at school or home, this simple paper reindeer craft is a great way to work on fine motor skills. So, don’t forget to add this simple craft to your Christmas bucket list.

Craft Supplies

All our fun crafts and printable activities require basic craft supplies that you either already have at home or will have an easy time finding at your local craft store or online via Amazon.

Here is what you’ll need to make this free printable reindeer craft:

  • Free printable reindeer template – scroll to the bottom of this blog post to download the printable template you’ll need to make this paper craft in pdf format.
  • Printer and white cardstock to print the free template.
  • Construction paper – you’ll need a piece of black paper, white paper, brown paper and red paper.
  • Cardboard paper – we used a piece of cardboard for the reindeer’s head. If you don’t have carboard you can also use a second sheet of brown or tan construction paper.
  • Glue stick or double-sided tape
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Extra large googly eyes (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Print our free printable reindeer craft template.

Have children cut out the template pieces. Younger kids might struggle a little with this step.

So, they may require a little help to cut out their templates.

Step 2: Cut a circle out of cardboard paper.

Our circle was approximately 6 inches in diameter.

To create a circle, fold your construction paper in half and cut out a semi-circle along the folded edge of the paper.

Step 3: Trace the various parts of you’re reindeer’s face on construction paper.

Trace the antlers, snout and outer ears on brown paper, the inner ears on cardboard, the nose on red paper and the mouth on black paper.

You’ll use these different reindeer parts starting in the next step.

Step 4: Glue the ears to the back corners of the your reindeer face using a dab of glue.

Step 5: Make the reindeer’s eyes by cutting out 2 large circles from your white paper.

To create the pupil cut out 2 smaller circles from black construction paper.

Using a dot of glue, stick the black circle onto the white to create the eyes.

If you are crafting with really young children you can use extra large googly eyes to make this a little easier. 

Bigger kids should have no problem creating the eyes.

​Step 6:  Glue the eyes to the upper part of the reindeer face using a dot of glue for each eye.

Step 7:  Complete your own reindeer by gluing the antlers, snout, red nose and mouth to your reindeer face.

Step 8: Proudly display your cute red nosed reindeer!
