Easy Torn Paper Chick Craft
This torn paper chick craft is one of our favorite Easter craft ideas for kids!
Not only is it fun and simple to make, but it’s also a great way to boost fine motor skills and encourage creativity.
As children tear and arrange pieces of construction paper, they strengthen the small muscles in their fingers—an important part of early development.
With just a few basic supplies you likely already have on hand, all you need is our free printable chick template to get started on this adorable Easter craft!
Supplies
- Chick template – download the free template at the very bottom of this blog post.
- Cardstock – we used purple to print the first page of the template and white for the second
- Construction paper in white and yellow
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Orange washable markers
Instructions
Print the chick template on cardstock. Use the background color of your choice for the first page (chick & egg) and white for the second (eyes & beak).
Tear yellow construction paper into small pieces. Apply a small amount of glue, then stick the pieces to the chick’s body.
Tear white construction paper into small pieces. Using a small amount of glue, use the white pieces of paper to create the bottom and top of the Easter egg.
Color the chick’s beak using an orange marker. Cut it out and use a small amount of glue to stick it on.
Cut out the chick’s eyes and glue them on using a dab of glue.
Let your torn paper chick craft dry completely before displaying it.
