We love making animal crafts. And, this torn paper ladybug craft is a great example of a fun and simple craft that kids of all ages can make.

By using our free printable template (more on how to download it below), cardstock paper, construction paper and glue – kids can work on their fine motor skills while creating an adorable ladybug craft.

A fun and low-prep animal craft for children, this torn paper ladybug craft is a fun activity for spring crafting both at home or in the classroom.

Supplies

  • Ladybug template – you can download a copy of the free ladybug template you’ll need to make this torn paper ladybug craft at the very bottom of this blog post
  • Cardstock in blue for printing the template
  • Black, red, green and white construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Googly eyes

Instructions

Print a copy of our free printable ladybug template on blue cardstock.

Tear up green construction paper and glue it to the entire area below the ladybug. This will be a grassy patch that the ladybug sits on.

Tear up white construction paper and glue it to create white fluffy clouds.

Tear red construction paper into small pieces. Glue the pieces over the ladybug’s entire body.

Tear up black construction paper and glue it to cover the ladybug’s head.

Cut out small black circles from leftover pieces of black construction paper and glue them to the lady bugs body to create spots.

Using a small amount of glue or a glue dot stick on the lady bug’s googly eyes. You can also use self adhesive googly eyes if you have them.

Cut out a small mouth from white construction paper and glue it to your ladybug’s face.

Let your torn paper ladybug craft dry completely before displaying or playing with it.
