Name crafts are such a fun and meaningful way to help young kids learn! Not only do they support important early literacy skills like letter recognition, spelling, and name identification, but they also give kids a chance to express their creativity in a hands-on, engaging way.

Instructions

Step 1: Print the Template
Download and print the jellyfish template on cardstock. The template includes two pages: print the first page (the jellyfish body) on colored cardstock and the second page (eyes and name circles) on white cardstock. Alternatively, print both pages on white cardstock and let kids color everything in themselves.

Step 2: Cut Out the Pieces
Carefully cut out the jellyfish head, tentacles, eyes, and name circles. You’ll need one name circle for each letter in your child’s name.

Step 3: Assemble the Jellyfish
Glue the tentacles to the back of the jellyfish head. Add as many as you’d like to give your jellyfish a fun, wiggly look. Then, glue the eyes onto the face.

Step 4: Add the Name
Write one letter of the child’s name on each name circle. Then, glue the circles across the jellyfish’s body to display the name.

Step 5: Draw a Smile
Finish off your jellyfish by drawing a cheerful smile or silly smirk. Now your jellyfish is complete and ready to swim into your ocean-themed activities!
