Crayon Box Name Craft
Looking for a fun and friendly way to kick off the school year? This crayon box name craft is the perfect back-to-school icebreaker that helps kids share a little about themselves while getting to know their classmates!
Not only does it spark conversations and smiles, but it also doubles as cheerful classroom decor that adds a personal touch to your walls or bulletin board.
Plus, it’s a great opportunity for young learners to practice their writing skills as they fill in their favorite things and proudly write their names!
Supplies You’ll Need:
- Crayon Box Name Craft Template – Print one for each child.
- White Cardstock – We recommend Neenah White for a sturdy, high-quality finish.
- Coloring Tools – Markers, crayons, or colored pencils—whatever the kids love most!
- Scissors – Kid-friendly scissors for easy cutting.
- Glue Stick – For assembling the crayon box.
- Black Marker or Sharpie – Perfect for writing names and favorite things boldly.
Instructions
Print the Template – Start by printing the crayon box name craft template on high-quality white cardstock—we recommend Neenah White for the best results.
Color the Crayons and Box – Let kids use their favorite coloring tools (markers, crayons, or colored pencils) to decorate the crayon box and crayons. They’ll only need 7 crayons, so encourage them to choose and color their top 7 favorites!
Cut It Out – Carefully cut out the crayon box and each of the 7 crayons using scissors. Adult supervision is recommended for younger kids.
Add Personal Touches – With a black marker or Sharpie, have each child write their name boldly on the front label of the crayon box. Then, fill in each crayon with answers to the prompts—like favorite book, food, hobby, and more.
Assemble the Craft – Apply a small dab of glue to the bottom of each crayon and attach them behind the crayon box so it looks like the crayons are peeking out of the top.
