Easy Newspaper Fox Craft For Kids
We love crafting with old newspaper – it’s such a fun and simple way to transform everyday materials into creative and beautiful craft projects with kids.
So, we’re very excited to add this torn newspaper fox craft to our collection of newspaper craftivities for kids.
This fun little torn paper craft is a great choice for kids in preschool, kindergarten and the early primary grades.
A fun low prep activity, all you’ll need is our free printable fox template, glue, construction paper and old newspaper.
Supplies
- Fox template – to snag a copy of the template you’ll need head to the very bottom of this post.
- Cardstock – for optimal results we recommend using 110lbs cardstock paper.
- Construction paper in orange, black and pink
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Googly eyes
- Old newspaper
Instructions
Print a copy of our printable fox template on high quality cardstock paper. Using scissors cut out all parts of the fox template.
Rip some old newspaper into small pieces. Apply glue and attach the torn newspaper all over the fox’s head and ears. It’s perfectly fine if the newspaper extends beyond the edges of the template.
Use scissors to trim any excess newspaper that extends beyond the edges of the fox template. If you’re crafting with very young children, you may need to assist them with this step.
Tip: Flip the fox over and trim from the back to make it easier to cut along the edges of the template.
Trace the top portion of the fox’s head on orange construction paper, the ears on pink paper, and the nose on black paper. Then, carefully cut out each piece.
Using a small amount of glue, glue the upper part of the foxes head to the outline covered in newspaper.
Using a little glue, stick the pink ears on top of the foxes ears.
Using a small amount of glue stick the fox’s nose to its face.
Attach your self-adhesive googly eyes to the foxes face.
Let your newspaper fox craft dry completely before playing with it or displaying it.
