Instructions
Print a copy of our printable owl template on high quality cardstock paper. Using scissors cut out all parts of the owl template.
Rip some old newspaper into small pieces. Apply glue and attach the torn newspaper all over the owl’s face. It’s perfectly fine if the newspaper extends beyond the edges of the template.
Use scissors to trim any excess newspaper that extends beyond the edges of the owl template. If you’re crafting with very young children, you may need to assist them with this step.
Tip: Flip the owl’s face over and trim from the back to make it easier to cut along the edges of the template.
Trace the owl’s head on brown or grey construction paper, the eyes on yellow paper and the beak on orange paper. Then, carefully cut out each of the pieces.
Using a small amount of glue, glue the owl’s face to the owl’s head.
Using a little glue, stick owl’s eyes onto the face.
Using a small amount of glue stick the owl’s beak to its face.
Attach your self-adhesive googly eyes to the center of the owl’s face.
Let your newspaper owl craft dry completely before playing with it or displaying it.
