Newspaper Panda Craft For Kids

Making panda crafts is so much fun! So, we’re so excited to add this cute panda craft to our collection of recycled newspaper activities.

This simple newspaper panda craft is so much fun for kids of all ages to make.

Torn pieces of old newspaper are glued to our free printable template and then transformed into an adorable panda by adding a nose, eyes and ears.

A fun hands on activity, this newspaper panda craft is an engaging way to learn about pandas while working on fine motor skills.

Supplies

Free printable panda template – you can snag a free copy of the template at the very bottom of this post.
Cardstock – for optimal results we recommend using 110lbs card stock.
Scissors
Glue stick
Googly eyes
Old newspaper
Black marker or sharpie

Instructions

Print a copy of our free printable panda template on high quality cardstock. Cut out the pandas head, nose, ears and eyes.

Tear up a couple of sheets of newspaper into small pieces. Using glue, stick the torn pieces of newspapers all over the pandas head. Don’t worry if the newspaper overlaps the edge of the template.

Using scissors trim off the excess newspaper that overhangs the edges of the panda template. If you are crafting with especially young children you may have to help them complete this step.

*Tip: flip your panda over and trim it upside down so you can trim around the template with your scissors.

Glue the pandas nose, ears and eyes onto its head using your glue stick.

Stick the self-adhesive googly eyes into the white space of the panda’s eyes.

Use a black marker or sharpie to draw the panda’s mouth.

Let your newspaper panda craft dry completely before displaying or playing with it.
