Instructions
Print a copy of our printable koala template on high quality cardstock paper. Using scissors cut out the koala’s head, nose, ears and rosy cheeks.
Tear up a few pieces of old newspaper into small pieces. Using glue, stick the torn up newspaper all over the koala’s head and ears . Don’t worry if the newspaper overlaps the edge of the template.
Using scissors trim off the excess newspaper that overhangs the edges of the template. If you are crafting with especially young children you may have to help them complete this step.
*Tip: flip your koala over and trim it upside down so you can trim around the template with your scissors.
Glue the koalas nose and ears onto the head using a glue stick.
Trace the koala’s rosy cheeks on pink construction paper and cut them out as well. Alternatively you can use a pink marker to color in the stencil.
Using a glue stick, glue the Koala’s ears, nose and rosy cheeks onto the face.
Stick the self-adhesive googly eyes onto the koala’s face.
Use a black marker to draw a mouth and eyebrows.
Let your newspaper koala craft dry completely before displaying.
